A specially adapted accessible carriage on the Spa Valley Railway is bookable for those with reduced mobility to enjoy a steam train experience.
The carriage is wheelchair friendly, so you can choose from some amazing and affordable dining experiences to enjoy with family and friends on the standard gauge heritage railway in Kent.
“Recently entering service, the new carriage is a converted 1960s Mark 1 carriage which is now capable of carrying three standard wheelchair users in the passenger saloon,” said Jonnie Pay, Spa Valley Railway’s General Manager.
“The carriage was restored by our talented volunteers from the ground up and cost many thousands of pounds before it was ready to enter service on our railway.
The railway’s dining experiences, which generate essential funds to operate the railway, include Murder Mystery evenings, Fish & Chip Suppers, The Cream Tea experience, A Taste of: Faulty Towers - The Dining Experience, the Wildwood Vineyard Wine Tasting & Train Ride, the Kent Cheese Train, the Kent Gin Train, the Kent Whisky Train and Afternoon Tea experience.
