GB Wheelchair Basketball Teams Qualify for Paris 2024 Paralympic Games

GB Men have won gold at the 2023 International Wheelchair Basketball Federation (IWBF) European Championships by beating Spain 74:53 in the final.

The squad confirmed their place at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games earlier in the tournament by winning a crucial semi-final against Germany.

“It’s absolutely unbelievable,” said Martin Edwards, a member of the winning GB team (pictured above).

“I’d just like to thank everyone back home and everyone that made the trip out, for the support. They helped us get the gold.

“Onwards and upwards; we keep kicking on and Paris, here we come!”

GB Women were also in the medals, winning silver after they lost their final match against hosts Netherlands. They have also booked their place at next year’s Paralympic Games.
