Settle back and relax in the comfort of your own living room for a live gig from the Downend Folk & Roots.
Live to Your Living Room delivers the very best of the folk, roots, and acoustic music scene live to your home and on Friday (February 21) features Sam Sweeney and Louis Campbell, with support from Lou Shepherd.
Sam is a veteran of the mighty Bellowhead, former and inaugural artistic director of the National Youth Folk Ensemble, founder member of the acclaimed instrumental trio Leveret, and is at the forefront of the revival in English traditional music.
Louis joined Sam’s band aged 19, while studying at the Royal Northern College of Music. His duo album (with fiddle player Owen Spafford) received 4 and 5 star reviews from Songlines and RnR magazines and national airplay on BBC Radio 2, 3 and Scotland as well as RTE1.
A Bristol-based folk singer-songwriter who brings the powerful energy of the folk revival firmly into the world of experimental indie-folk, Lou Shepherd’s poetic lyrical perspectives, immersive soundscapes and commanding melodies have quickly positioned her firmly as one to watch.
To watch the show live (7.45pm, doors at 7.30pm) or opt-in to receive a recording of the gig, available for 72 hours, visit https://livetoyourlivingroom.com/ for details.
Great for anyone who can’t get to gigs because of their disability, insurmountable problems in getting there, just too ill or, as is the case with autistic people, completely out of their comfort zone in a social setting.
