Settle back and relax in the comfort of your own living room for this week’s live music gig.
Live to Your Living Room delivers the very best of the folk, roots, and acoustic music scene live to your home and tomorrow (April 25) features Andy Irvine with Quilty.
Musician, singer and songwriter, Andy Irvine has maintained his highly individual performing skills throughout his over 55-year career. From Sweeney’s Men in the mid 60s, to the enormous success of Planxty in the 70s, his duo with Paul Brady and then from Patrick Street to Mozaik, LAPD and Usher’s Island, Andy has been a world music pioneer and an icon for traditional music and musicians.
The Swedish band Quilty is a highly renowned interpreter of traditional Irish music and is considered the foremost band of the Irish folk music scene in Scandinavia. Since 2020 Quilty has been touring with the programme Out on the Ocean – sea shanties, emigration songs, love ballads and songs about epic adventures at sea in a salty and tar scented concert programme combining Irish and Scottish songs with the Atlantic Ocean as a backdrop, as well as the traditional music from their own country.
Together these two artists offer a unique musical journey taking in the cultures of their two native countries.
To watch the show live (7.30pm, doors at 7.15pm) or opt-in to receive a recording of the gig, available for 72 hours, visit https://livetoyourlivingroom.com/ for details.
Live to Your Living Room is great for anyone who can’t get to gigs because of their disability, insurmountable problems in getting there, just too ill or, as is the case with autistic people, completely out of their comfort zone in a social setting.
