As part of its commitment to improve access for people with disabilities the National Trust conservation charity has teamed up with accessibility organisation AccessAble.
AccessAble is surveying all Trust properties, including outdoor sites and holiday accommodation, to create digital ‘Detailed Access Guides’ for the historic places and green spaces in Trust care.
The guides will contain information such as parking options, step-free access and accessible toilets. They also include accurate measurements and photographs, so disabled visitors and carers will know what to expect when they arrive.
There are currently Detailed Access Guides for more than 550 Trust places and over 100 holiday properties, with more to follow.
Details can be found under the ‘Accessibility’ tabs on the visitor information section of individual National Trust property websites, and on the AccessAble website https://www.accessable.co.uk/
