World Champion Kadeena Cox Signs-Up to Experian Support Hub

World and Paralympic champion Kadeena Cox will highlight the benefits of a service that makes essential services more accessible for those with support and accessibility needs.

The gold medal winner and record breaker will help drive awareness of Experian Support Hub, a ‘tell it once’ service that allows people to share their support needs with multiple businesses in a simple, standardised way.

Previously an able-bodied athlete, Kadeena suffered a stroke in 2015 and was subsequently diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). In a series of videos, she will speak about how tasks she previously found simple – like speaking to service providers – can now feel like an exhausting chore.

Her story reflects that of many others, with 73% of disabled people delaying contacting a provider because the process felt too daunting.

The Experian Support Hub platform aims to get people the correct support, save time and avoid multiple conversations by letting them share their access needs with multiple service providers in one simple process.

This could include their preferred method of communication such as letter, telephone, or email, or other requirements such as needing a longer appointment and being accompanied by another adult to assist them.

“Support Hub is a great service which knocks down barriers for those with disabilities and access needs, helping people get the service they deserve,” said Kadeena, who became the first person in 32 years to win gold medals in two different sports at a Paralympic Games, winning the T38 athletics 400m and C4 cycling 500m time trial at Rio 2016, setting new world records in both.

“Like many people with a disability, it impacts my daily life in ways which people can’t see. Something as simple as contacting and speaking with service providers can sometimes feel like an exhausting chore – that’s why a service like Support Hub is so important.”
